Preservation through Nitrogen Inerting is a controlled process designed to protect piping systems, pressure vessels, tanks, and critical equipment from corrosion, oxidation, and contamination during shutdown, storage, or pre-commissioning phases.

The method displaces oxygen and moisture inside a system with high-purity nitrogen gas, creating an inert atmosphere that prevents chemical reactions which lead to corrosion and material degradation.

How It Works

1. System Isolation & Preparation

The system is fully drained, dried, and isolated to eliminate residual moisture and contaminants before nitrogen introduction.

2. Nitrogen Purging

Nitrogen is introduced to displace oxygen, reducing internal O₂ concentration to acceptable preservation levels.

3. Pressurization & Blanketing

The system is maintained under controlled positive nitrogen pressure to prevent air ingress during the idle period.

4. Monitoring & Testing

Regular monitoring of pressure levels, oxygen content, and leak integrity ensures preservation conditions remain within specification throughout storage.
